Hutchison Ports ICAVE successfully held its first race against breast cancer on Vicente Fox Quesada Boulevard, in front of the emblematic Boca Forum, in the capital of Veracruz, with the aim of raising awareness among female workers, their families and the general public about the importance of preventing breast cancer and cardiometabolic diseases associated with a sedentary lifestyle.
The event, held on October 5, brought together 150 participating women and began at 8:00 am with a two-kilometer route, divided into two laps. The runners, previously registered by the Hutchison Ports ICAVE team, received commemorative kits that included t-shirts and caps designed especially for the occasion.
“The race not only seeks to highlight the importance of breast cancer prevention, but also to promote an active lifestyle that helps prevent chronic diseases,” explained Susana Díaz Virgen, general manager of Hutchison Ports ICAVE. “These types of events are key to promoting the comprehensive health of our employees and their families,” she added.
During the event, specialized health personnel, civil protection measures, and an energy drink station were available to ensure the well-being of the participants. Safety and organization were a priority for the successful development of the race .
The top three finalists received special recognition for their efforts: Azucena Capistrán took third place, Jazmín Mariana Lara Pérez second, and Mariana Bautista Robles was awarded the gold medal .
The event concluded with an awards ceremony and a few words of thanks to the participants, highlighting the importance of these initiatives for the health and well-being of the company’s employees and their families.
