In an effort to modernize and optimize Flecha Roja operations , STGT implemented advanced technological solutions with the support of Getac , a robust computing devices (laptops and tablets) company. This alliance improves operational efficiency and sets a new standard in the transportation industry in Mexico.
Antonio Vargas, Director of Operations and Transportation at Flecha Roja, highlighted the importance of this collaboration. “We are working with STGT and Getac on an onboard mobile technology solution that has allowed us to streamline our operations and obtain better results. The robustness of Getac’s hardware, together with STGT’s technological solutions, provides us with a platform prepared for future expansions. This has been essential to improve ticket sales, operational control and real-time data collection, thus optimizing our operations,” he commented.
For his part, Javier Sánchez, director of STGT, explained that SICOM is the main system through which the solution and alliance with Getac was born , which has various modules that work to guarantee operation in various areas.
“SICOM handles various essential modules such as ticket sales, route planning, onboard personnel management and fuel control. This system allows efficient and centralized management, significantly increasing income and improving operational efficiency,” said Sánchez.
SICOM modules are:
Planning and services module: Plan routes, origins, destinations and cities, being the “heart” of the system where the entire route of the units is defined.
Management of personnel on board: Has solutions for passengers’ doubts and needs.
Settlements to drivers: Once the trip is finished, it allows the driver to speed up the accounts and commissions process.
Tourism: It is a module that brings together companies that are dedicated to this sector.
Fuel Module: Automates refueling by generating electronic vouchers based on the bus route and technology. This system reduces the risk of fraud and optimizes fuel use, integrating with ERP systems, such as SAP, for complete resource management.
Commercial module: Manages ticket sales at ticket offices, websites, travel agencies and mobile points of sale, processing around 90 thousand tickets daily. Multi-company capability ensures there is no duplication of seating, optimizing the passenger experience.
It is in this module where Getac’s robust tablets play a major role through the use of the SITA system (comprehensive on-board transportation system) .
SITA allows you to control and manage the entry of passengers on board the bus and the robust Getac tablet enters as a COM (mobile operating center) , which has full control of entry of people, charges and more.
Tests are currently being carried out with infrared and GPS sensors to monitor passenger pick-ups and drop-offs in real time, guaranteeing accurate fare and location management.
“With the use of these solutions we have observed increases in income of between 10% and 35%, as well as a 70% reduction in collection times. Automatic fare synchronization and real-time monitoring of bus locations have optimized the experience for both drivers and passengers,” Sánchez explained.
For her part, Mara Flores, representative of Getac Latin America, emphasized that the company’s products are designed to withstand extreme conditions and are essential for industries such as logistics and transportation.
“Our rugged tablets and laptops have military certifications and are prepared to operate under any weather conditions. This robustness and reliability are essential for Flecha Roja’s operations, ensuring constant and reliable performance,” said Flores.
In this regard, Mario Lozano, general director of Rodio , stressed the importance of the alliance with Getac for the Mexican market.
“We distribute Getac products throughout Mexico, providing a heavy-duty solution ideal for industries such as logistics, transportation, mining, among others. These tablets, with a useful life of more than five years, are key to technological efficiency in industrial operations,” he noted.
