FedEx Mexico is advancing in strengthening its air cargo operations with a strategy focused on consolidating its presence in high-value intercontinental corridors, particularly to Europe and Asia, while reinforcing its infrastructure and logistics offering in the country. In an environment where speed and reliability define competitiveness, the company seeks to reposition itself in the market and expand its participation in strategic segments of international trade .
Jorge Galina, senior manager of Global Air Freight at FedEx Mexico, stated in an interview that this approach will allow the company to more clearly project its operational capacity and global reach : “We have the fifth largest air fleet in the world and the largest cargo fleet. We have 698 aircraft operating in more than 650 airports globally. We have interline agreements that optimize our routes and expand the capacity of our solutions.”
The evolution of trade flows has favored this positioning. “ We are observing growth in key cargo markets , mainly towards Europe, followed by Asia and the United States, which continues to be our main export destination,” he says.
As part of this strategy, in 2025 the company added an additional flight between Guadalajara and Oakland , a connection that transcends the bilateral sphere by becoming a logistical link that facilitates Mexico’s connection with Asian and European markets, and responds to the dynamism of industries such as automotive, high technology, aerospace and pharmaceutical, with the automotive sector being the one with the greatest expansion, driven by the country’s export vocation and the presence of assembly plants that send auto parts and finished vehicles to the United States.

However, the operating environment demands adaptability . Galina warns that factors such as macroeconomic and microeconomic policies, fuel costs, environmental regulations, and the volatility of global trade can affect the sector’s performance. “The key is to maintain operational flexibility and constant innovation, ensuring that our solutions remain relevant and competitive in an increasingly complex global environment,” she explains.
