Fruehauf developed a chassis to transport a 20-foot container with a hydraulic lifting system, 100% customized for a client who initially placed an order for 10 units to transport copper concentrate.
The manufacturer with more than 110 years of experience said that this order is likely to be only the first of several throughout the commercial alliance with its client.
The engineering team built a semi-trailer that combines features of two different models, since their client required the transport of containers that, once assembled, had a tilt-type lifting system using a hydraulic piston. The design and structural analysis to manufacture the specialized equipment took approximately three months .
“We are committed to manufacturing units tailored to the operation they have, even if it is very specialized, we always see how to do it, it is something that characterizes us,” said Leandro Radomile, general manager of Fruehauf.
The unit developed by Fruehauf consists of a chassis to transport a 20-foot container with a Hyva brand hydraulic lifting system and equipped with Bendix ABS brakes, Saf Holland skid , folding side guard, Jost adjustable locks, 30,000-pound Hendrickson axles , Tiremaax Pro self-inflation and a Wallace brand tow hook to be able to transit in full.
For his part, Alonso González, commercial manager of Special Units at Fruehauf, explained that this project is a turning point in the manufacturing of equipment and in the transport of similar materials.
