The passenger transportation industry now has a new date on its calendar: Expo Foro Movilidad 2026 will take place from March 4 to 6 at Expo Santa Fe, in Mexico City, as confirmed by the National Chamber of Passenger and Tourism Transportation (Canapat) .
Luis Antonio Zaldívar Sánchez, president of Canapat, shared details of the event with Elim Luviano, executive director of the organization. In their messages, they emphasized that the forum is not just an exhibition, but a space where efforts toward innovation, modernization, and professionalization of the sector are concentrated .
“The challenges we face are clearly defined: strengthening road safety and regulatory compliance, advancing the professionalism and training of our personnel, modernizing the fleet, and accelerating the transition to cleaner and more efficient transportation,” said Zaldívar.
One of the key factors for the 2026 edition is the hosting of the World Cup in North America, with Mexico as one of the host countries. The expected increased influx of visitors (approximately six million additional tourists in the region, according to Canapat) represents an operational challenge for passenger transportation, which must guarantee connectivity, efficiency, and safety.
Zaldívar emphasized that the forum will offer a platform for reflection on these types of challenges, through conferences , discussions, and debates . It will also showcase technologies, vehicles, operating models, and professional training programs that can respond to the new demand.
During the announcement, Luviano announced that the marketing phase for spaces is now open for companies and institutions interested in participating.
Since its first edition in 1990, Expo Foro Movilidad has become a key meeting point for passenger and tourism transportation. Looking ahead to 2026, the 17th edition will seek to respond to a special situation, marked by the World Cup and the expected increase in demand for mobility in Mexico.
With this announcement, the sector begins to prepare. The March event will not just be an exhibition, but an opportunity to align the transportation ecosystem with the logistical, regulatory, and technological challenges ahead.
