
DHL Express Mexico and the Secretariat of Innovation and Economic Development (SIDE) of Chihuahua signed a collaboration agreement to promote the growth and competitiveness of local micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) , which will allow entrepreneurs in the state to access preferential discounts on national and international courier and parcel services .
“Chihuahua is a national leader in entrepreneurship and industrial development. Our commitment is to be a strategic partner so that more Chihuahua businesses can expand internationally, realize their potential, and continue to be an example of competitiveness and sustainable growth,” said Manuel Montes, Director of Compliance and Regulatory Affairs at DHL Express Mexico.
Another benefit of the agreement, which runs until May 31, 2026, is access to technological tools, informational modules, and educational sessions with DHL specialists through the “SME Program.” The initiative also aims to strengthen the “Made in Chihuahua” brand , promoting the presence of local products as a hallmark of quality and competitiveness in the global market.
Furthermore, the promotion of digitalization and standardization of logistics processes, facilitating the adoption of practices aligned with international trade standards by SMEs, as well as generating a multiplier effect on the local economy by reducing barriers to entry into e-commerce and exporting for small businesses .

This alliance with DHL represents a strategic opportunity to support our micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) and enable them to maximize the potential of their ventures by accessing new markets,” highlighted Ulises Alejandro Fernández, Secretary of Innovation and Economic Development of Chihuahua.
The signing of the agreement took place within the framework of the business meeting “Conecta Chihuahua 2025” , an initiative aimed at strengthening the growth of local MSMEs.
Currently, DHL Express has 25 stores in the state, located in Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua, Ciudad Cuauhtémoc, Ciudad Delicias, and Hidalgo del Parral. The state’s main exports through DHL are clothing, books and magazines, electronics, food and beverages, toys, accessories, and household goods. Seasonal shipments include electronics, spare parts, and traditional products.
Meanwhile, the destinations used by customers are the State of Mexico, Jalisco, Nuevo León, Coahuila and Quintana Roo, and internationally they include the United States, China, Canada, Spain, Colombia and Germany.
Chihuahua stands out for its logistics and manufacturing ecosystem , which connects to the main industrial corridors of North America . It has a privileged geographic location for the movement of goods and exports to the United States and Canada.
According to the 2024 Economic Census by the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (Inegi) , 122,407 economic units operated in the private sector and state-owned enterprises during 2023. Of these, 92.8% were micro-enterprises, 6.7% were small and medium-sized enterprises, and only 0.5% were large enterprises.
