The Latin American Confederation of Customs Brokers (CLAA) will hold the first edition of IAduana 2024: Innovation and Security in Foreign Trade, a symposium that will explore the use and application of artificial intelligence (AI) and cybersecurity in the daily work of all actors in foreign trade.
Nashielly Escobedo, CEO of CLAA, highlighted in an interview with T21 that this symposium – to be held on May 14th – is of great relevance to the supply chain, as everything theoretically discussed regarding tools such as AI and blockchain will be demonstrated in customs processes through some presentations.
“At the end of the day, we are a team. If all links join in using these technologies to try to prevent errors, reduce processing times not only operationally but also administratively, we will be able to be more efficient and secure,” Escobedo assured.
She also explained that the idea of the symposium is to demonstrate what is being done in the sector regarding cutting-edge technologies, what solutions it offers; what has been done internationally and what is already in Mexico but has not yet been fully exploited.
“It is a first meeting in which we want everyone to join us and incorporate these tools into operation. It will be an interesting event, the speakers are specialists in the use of AI and cybersecurity,” she said.
Finally, Nashielly Escobedo indicated that CLAA seeks to continue and promote the use of these technologies, with complementary events that will be announced later, calling on those who want to join these technologies.
The event will take place at the facilities of the Monterrey Institute of Technology and Higher Education (Tec de Monterrey), Mexico City campus, offering a space for learning, idea exchange, and networking.
