LEÓN, GTO. – From the moment José Refugio Muñoz López, founder of Grupo Castores, first rolled out the truck, the relationship with Cummins began, as that unit was equipped with this power source, which would eventually become the only engine used by this group of over five thousand heavy and medium-duty units in circulation.
Since then, Cummins has remained on a path of product innovation focused on maximum performance and efficiency, as well as quality and reliability of engines. “These elements, combined with close collaboration to understand and anticipate their needs, have allowed us to continue being their trusted provider,” comments Arturo García, regional Sales manager of Cummins Inc., and responsible for attending to Grupo Castores.
Currently, out of Grupo Castores’ fleet of over five thousand tractors and trucks, all are equipped with Cummins engines. While this is an achievement, “it has been the result of Cummins’ constant commitment to sustainability and innovation, the high quality and reliability of our products, and our ability to offer customized solutions that specifically meet the needs of our customers,” emphasizes Arturo García.
In this effort, Cummins finds the precise gear with its distributor Alesso, where from its Bajio division, since 1987 (foundation of Grupo Dexel, owner of Alesso), it has maintained a close collaboration relationship. “We generate an annual work plan that involves the main strategic and operational areas: maintenance, fuel control, technical training, operator training, and Six Sigma projects,” shares Fernando Urbina, director of Alesso Bajio.
This closeness is evident in all areas of Castores where a relationship with Alesso and Cummins executives is identified, with whom there is trust to provide solutions to customer needs, but also to explore areas of opportunity.
“As Cummins releases new technologies, Alesso must be ready to meet the certifications, which include: parts, information, tools, and training necessary to support the after-sales service required by our customers,” expresses Urbina.
