The National Council of Executives in Logistics and Supply Chain (ConaLog) and Latina Chief, an executive recruitment firm, announced their strategic alliance aimed at increasing female representation in leadership roles within the logistics and supply chain sector in Mexico.
Currently, women represent less than 10% of leadership positions in the logistics sector in Mexico, according to the latest study “Logistics Performance Indicators in Mexico: Data That Moves 2nd Edition” by ConaLog, GS1, Alvarez and Marsal, the Mexican Association of Intermodal Transport (AMTI), BDS, and IPADE Business School.
This figure highlights the urgent need for initiatives that promote greater inclusion and gender equity in this critical industry for the country’s economic development.
ConaLog and Latina Chief stated in a press release that their collaboration aims to mutually enhance growth and strengthen their joint commitment to diversity and inclusion in leadership positions.
Additionally, they seek to make professional opportunities more accessible to female members and the ConaLog audience, while Latina Chief will provide specialized recruitment services for the organization’s corporate partners, focusing on identifying and attracting female talent through ConaLog’s network.
“By combining our strengths, ConaLog and Latina Chief will set a precedent for collaboration, illustrating that joint efforts by organizations committed to diversity are the cornerstone of impactful change in Mexico’s corporate landscape. Diversity is not only a matter of equity but also a catalyst for innovation and organizational profitability,” stated Lizette Ibarra, CEO of Latina Chief, as cited in the release.
The organizations also indicated that they want this collaboration to become a leading example for other sectors, strengthening the competitiveness and sustainability of the logistics sector while promoting positive change throughout the business environment.
