On June 5, a regular container service began with the World Direct Shipping shipping company, which operated the CICE Tampico Multipurpose Terminal , on a route that connects between Tampico (Tamaulipas) and Port Manatee (Florida).
According to information from World Direct Shipping, the service that will touch the CICE Tampico terminal will be offered with the “Queen B” vessel.
The service consists of four regular stops per month with weekly itineraries for the movement of approximately 1,200 containers per month , thus connecting the Gulf of Mexico with the eastern and northeastern areas of the United States.

World Direct Shipping began operations in 2014 and has become one of the fastest growing American container lines in recent years, it has one of the largest fleets of 53-foot maritime containers for commercial exchange between Mexico and the United States. .
Based on the Monthly Statistics of the General Coordination of Ports and Merchant Marine , Tampico mobilized a total of seven million 258 thousand 212 tons in the accumulated January – April period, which represented an increase of 11.2% compared to the same cycle in 2023. As for containerized cargo, operated two million 268 thousand 817 tons, an increase of 7.8% compared to the comparison period.
