General Motors (GM) announced Thursday the integration of its BrightDrop 400 and 600 commercial vans into the Chevrolet brand , in order to strengthen its electric vehicle portfolio .
“By adding BrightDrop to the Chevrolet portfolio, we are combining the advanced technology of these electric vehicles with the reliability and affordability that Chevrolet offers,” said Scott Bell, vice president of Chevrolet.
With a range of 437 kilometers on a full charge , both units are equipped with sliding front doors, a rear door with curtain opening and access to the cargo area from the cabin. In addition, they have a 360° vision camera, emergency braking assistance, front and rear proximity sensors, among other features.
“Chevrolet BrightDrop 400 and 600 are the alternative for our customers to improve their commercial performance, reduce emissions and optimize their operational or delivery services ,” said Adrián Enciso, Director of Electric Vehicles at GM Mexico.
Both units, produced under GM’s Ultium battery platform at the CAMI assembly plant in Ingersoll, Ontario, Canada, will be available for purchase in Mexico during the first quarter of 2025 .
It will be marketed under a fleet model through three distributors located in Monterrey, Mexico City and Guadalajara , who will also be responsible for after-sales service.
