Cainiao , the logistics division of Alibaba Group , has opened its first directly operated warehouse in Mexico, offering nationwide deliveries with transit times of up to two days in key areas of the State of Mexico.

“With a strategic location and a robust last-mile network, the new center enables nationwide deliveries, offering global companies high-quality local fulfillment services,” the company said in a statement.

Located in the State of Mexico, the warehouse is in a functional and strategic location to serve key urban centers such as Mexico City and Monterrey.

Fully integrated with leading local e-commerce platforms, the fulfillment center allows merchants to optimize their operations with services such as drop shipping , reverse logistics for returns management, kitting with packaging processes, product photography, and other value-added logistics solutions. “This allows them to manage multiple sales channels from a single storage location,” he said.

The new facility aims to meet the high demand among Mexican consumers for e-commerce, where the country stands out as one of the fastest-growing markets in the world.

According to the Mexican Online Sales Association (AMVO) , online sales revenue will reach more than $39 billion in 2024, with annual growth close to 20%, marking six consecutive years of double-digit expansion.

In this context, Cainiao’s investment strengthens the logistics infrastructure for merchants seeking to scale in one of the world’s most dynamic digital ecosystems.

The new logistics center benefits from the company’s global operational experience and advanced digital capabilities.

“Through its proprietary Warehouse Management System , merchant customers can monitor product inventory, incoming and outgoing shipments, and have visibility into delivery status throughout the entire logistics process,” the company emphasized.

The warehouse maintains a superior operating standard, with on-time output, scanning, and on-time delivery rates above 95% , providing confidence to brands and companies seeking to grow in the Mexican market.

Since its arrival in Mexico in 2024, Cainiao has continuously invested in infrastructure, including international warehouses, directly operated last-mile networks, and warehousing and cargo centers.

The company currently operates a local delivery network covering more than 20 states , offering three-day delivery nationwide and two-day delivery in Mexico City and key areas of the State of Mexico.
