Bendix Commercial Vehicle Systems LLC (Bendix) inaugurated a new production plant at its Ciudad Acuña, Coahuila operation, marking a milestone in the forefront of technological manufacturing, according to a company press release.
The plant covers 17,187 square meters (m²) and will employ highly automated processes to produce two next-generation emerging technologies, namely Global Scalable Brake Control (GSBC) and Global Scalable Air Treatment (GSAT).
GSBC and GSAT are modular and global systems designed to meet various customer and vehicle needs. The highly automated plant with strict environmental controls will ensure precise and quality production.
In this regard, with the start of production of these innovative lines, Bendix seeks to consolidate its commitment to the commercial vehicle industry. Additionally, the Ciudad Acuña plant thus becomes an epicenter of advanced and efficient production.
Piotr Sroka, President and CEO of Bendix, said, “This new plant is a tangible symbol of our progress towards more automated and high-tech manufacturing in Ciudad Acuña. It is the result of years of continuous effort to elevate our operational capabilities, maintaining the quality and reliability that characterize Bendix products.”
The new plant represents an achievement for Bendix and is a milestone in Knorr-Bremse’s BOOST 2026 program, Bendix’s parent company. This global program drives sustainable growth and innovation in automotive technology, according to the press release.
Additionally, this plant has enabled the hiring of approximately 200 employees, strengthening Ciudad Acuña’s workforce, which will rise to nearly two thousand people.
