Next Monday, February 17, transporters, merchants and businessmen will take to the streets in what they called a “mega march” to demand justice for alleged extortion and unfounded accusations by the “prosecutor’s office,” according to a statement issued by the Union of Transporters, Merchants and Businessmen of the Mexican Republic, although no further details were given.
It is expected that from 08:00 hours there will be blockades and disruptions at the main entrances to the capital of the country. The main points of concentration and road closures are:
- San Cristóbal railway bridge, heading towards the Mexico-Pachuca highway.
- Mexico-Querétaro toll booth, CDMX address.
- Mexico-Cuernavaca toll booth, CDMX address.
- Ignacio Zaragoza toll booth (Juarez Head).
- La Marquesa toll booth (Mexico-Toluca), CDMX address.
The destination of this mobilization will be the National Palace, to request the intervention of President Claudia Sheinbaum.
On social media, various organizations in the sector have shared information about the mega march on February 17. The Alliance of Autonomous Transporters of the Mexican Republic, AC , disseminated the call through its digital platforms, urging its members to join the mobilization.
In recent months, various groups of workers and communities have blocked roads across the country in protest against authorities at different levels of government, affecting transportation and logistics.
