At the end of the first semester, the airport groups of the Pacific (GAP) , North Center (OMA) and the Southeast (Asur) registered slight declines in passenger movement, 1.9%, 2% and 0.4%, respectively, compared to the same period. of 2023.
According to its report sent to the Mexican Stock Exchange (BMV) , GAP reported 30 million 864 thousand 200 passengers compared to 31 million 469 thousand 400 users last year.
The concessionaire of 12 airports in the country mentioned that the impact originated in the national market where it had a decrease of 6.3%, the largest drop was at the Mexicali airport. While internationally, growth was 3.6%, since the vast majority of airports registered increases, and only Tijuana and La Paz decreased.
OMA had a drop of 2% because it went from 12 million 608 thousand 975 passengers to 12 million 359 thousand 61 users during January to June of this year.
Similarly, in the national market there was a drop of 3.9%, while internationally the increase was 11.2% year-on-year.
Meanwhile, Asur’s traffic fell 0.4% in the first half compared to the same period last year. This is because it mobilized 21 million 690 thousand 50 travelers compared to 21 million 771 thousand 122 last year.
