Today, the arrival of the new head of the General Directorate of Federal Transportation (DGAF) was formalized , to replace Nohémi Muñoz , who had been in charge of this department in the previous federal administration of the Secretariat of Infrastructure, Communications and Transportation (SICT).
Through a document shared with T21, it was announced that Luis Ruiz Hernández assumed the position of head of the DGAF, having previously served as Undersecretary of Transportation in the Ministry of Mobility (Semovi) in the Government of Mexico City.
As you may recall , Jesús Antonio Esteva was appointed to be the head of the SICT in the current administration of President Claudia Sheinbaum.
Luis Ruiz graduated in Transportation Engineering from the National Polytechnic Institute (IPN) and has a specialty in Transportation Terminals from the Faculty of Architecture of the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM).
Prior to his position as Undersecretary at Semovi, he was Director General of Transportation and Secretary of Transportation and Roads of the Government of the Federal District.
He also held responsibilities as deputy general director of maintenance, director of transportation and training manager in the Mass Transportation System (STC).
During his time at the Secretariats of Urban Development and Public Works and Communications and Transportation of the Government of the State of Mexico, he was Deputy Director of Planning, Regional Delegate of Land Transportation in the eastern part of the State, and various other positions in the mobility sector.
In the previous federal administration, the DGAF had two heads, the most recent one, replaced by Ruiz Hernández, was Nohémi Muñoz , while at the beginning of the administration the head of this agency fell to Salomón Elnecavé.
