Volaris and Turkish Airlines signed a codeshare agreement that will strengthen air connectivity between Mexico and the rest of the world, creating new travel opportunities to Europe, the Middle East, Asia and Africa.
“This alliance strengthens our value proposition by expanding international connectivity options and positions Volaris as a key partner for international airlines in Mexico,” said Holger Blankenstein, Executive Vice President of the airline.
He explained that through this collaboration, Turkish Airlines customers will be able to travel from Istanbul to the airports of Mexico City and Cancun , and from there connect with the Mexican airline within Mexico and, through the Turkish airline, to one of the most extensive global networks, covering more than 130 countries.
Similarly, passengers will benefit from a smoother travel experience , with the possibility of purchasing a single itinerary, checking their luggage to the final destination, in accordance with applicable regulations, and having protection in case of disruptions in any of the segments of the trip, facilitating faster and more efficient connections.
Levent Konukcu, Turkish Airlines Chief Investment & Strategy Officer, highlighted that “Mexico is an important market for Turkish Airlines and this collaboration represents an opportunity to strengthen our presence and expand our connectivity in the country.”
Volaris stated that this agreement reinforces its position as the only Mexican airline with which Turkish Airlines maintains a codeshare alliance, while consolidating both companies as strategic players in international connectivity.
