Amazon , the e-commerce company, launched Amazon Supply Chain Services (ASCS), offering its freight, distribution, fulfillment, and package delivery capabilities to companies of all types and sizes worldwide.
With this launch, the US firm expands its third-party logistics capabilities to support companies in sectors such as healthcare, automotive, manufacturing, and retail .
“Amazon is bringing the infrastructure, intelligence, and scale of its supply chain services to businesses around the world, similar to how Amazon Web Services did with cloud computing, and with the launch of ASCS, we are confident that we can offer any other company access to the same cost efficiency, reliability, and speed that we have built for customers,” said Peter Larsen, vice president of Amazon Supply Chain Services.
He noted that leading brands such as Procter & Gamble , 3M , Lands’ End , and American Eagle Outfitters are among the first to subscribe to ASCS, as they now rely on Amazon’s logistics network throughout their supply chain.
He noted that they currently support hundreds of sellers, moving billions of items worldwide each year.
“Amazon has added value at every stage of our supply chain, from cross-border logistics to warehousing and package delivery,” said Todd Bairstow, founder of Finer Form .
He emphasized that ASCS’s difference is not just a single service but the capacity, speed, and reliability that each offering includes for cargo across the network, encompassing goods by sea, air, land, and rail, as well as a variety of options, including time-delayed shipments, simplified bookings, customs clearance, and end-to-end shipment visibility.
In addition, the company allows businesses to import, store, and position inventory closer to demand, and fulfill customer orders through their sales channels, all within a single network.
It also offers shipping solutions for orders placed through all sales channels, with delivery speeds of two to five days and service seven days a week.
