The digital platform Flete.com expects to manage 13,000 shipments in Mexico during 2026, after having exceeded 2,500 operations in its first year of operation in the country.
As part of its growth strategy, the company announced a $20 million investment aimed at technological development, talent strengthening, and the implementation of data tools.
“We had a very successful first year in Mexico. We started using WhatsApp as our main channel and are evolving our marketplace according to a strategic plan, adding features based on our experience in Brazil. The goal is for Mexican brokers to have a strategic partner to find suitable carriers to move their clients’ cargo,” commented Marco Reyes, country manager of Flete.com in Mexico.
The company began operations in Mexico in 2025 as a subsidiary of Frete.com , considered the largest logistics unicorn in Latin America, where it connects nearly one million carriers and manages more than 20 million shipments annually.
In the Mexican market, the goal also includes tripling its corporate customer base —mainly logistics brokers— to exceed 150, as well as increasing its network of registered carriers from 1,000 to 2,500.
Recent changes include filters by origin, destination, and unit type , which, according to the company, quadrupled the number of active users compared to the initial version based solely on bots .
The announced investment will be directed towards areas such as data engineering and artificial intelligence, with the aim of improving load allocation, reducing empty trips and strengthening safety mechanisms to decrease road incidents.
Flete.com is backed by international funds such as SoftBank , Tencent , Goldman Sachs and IDB Invest , among other investors.
The announcement comes at a time when the trucking sector in Mexico faces challenges of operational efficiency, low digitalization, and high costs resulting from idle time and empty trips, which has opened up space for technological platforms seeking to act as intermediaries between carriers and cargo generators.
