Grupo Aeroméxico was crowned the country’s leading airline in cargo movement during 2025 , leaving behind the other major cargo carriers , Avianca Cargo México and Estafeta .
According to statistics from the Federal Civil Aviation Agency (AFAC) , the company led by Andrés Conesa transported 159,476.54 tons last year , which represented a 4.7% increase compared to 2024, when it reported 152,209.89 tons.
Conversely, the largest cargo carrier moved 81,114.16 tons, Avianca Cargo Mexico 24,886.48 tons, and Estafeta 34,008.72 tons during the period.
Andrés Conesa, CEO of Aeroméxico, commented that the company’s strengthening in cargo stems from the investment made in the fleet, particularly in the Boeing Dreamliner 787, with three new aircraft joining the company’s operations by 2026.
Furthermore, he indicated that their alliance with Amazon has positioned the airline in the national market, as well as the pharmaceutical industry, since they have the necessary certificates for the transport of this type of merchandise and perishables.
“They are different components, but air cargo has been steadily increasing. By 2026, with the three 787s, we will achieve more, although we have been pressured by prices, which have been complicated by trade issues and the tariff war that has lowered volumes. But we have defended ourselves with greater capacity to maintain a level of income that complements passenger revenue. We are a passenger airline, and cargo complements it; we are not a cargo airline,” he stated in response to a question from T21.
In the case of the domestic market, Grupo Aeroméxico transported 52,761.38 tons in 2025, which meant an increase of 9.9% compared to 2024, when it moved 48,012.6 tons.

Internationally, the firm went from 104,197.29 tons in 2024 to 106,715.16 tons in 2025, that is, a year-on-year increase of 2.4%.
