The Ministry of Economy (SE) presented four new labor competency standards, aimed at strengthening workers and boosting the competitiveness of the Mexican logistics ecosystem and foreign trade.
The integration of proposals for foreign trade logistics services, operational management of international transport (road transport and rail), operational management of international transport (sea and air), and the implementation of geospatial analysis for logistics security are the new labor competency standards presented by the Ministry of Industry and Trade.
These standards were presented in collaboration with the Mexican Association of Importers and Exporters of the Mexican Republic (ANIERM) , the Mexican Association of Freight Forwarders (Amacarga) , the National Association of Vehicle Tracking and Protection Companies (ANERPV) , the National Customs Agency of Mexico (ANAM) , among others.
These were also developed in coordination with the National Council for Standardization and Certification of Labor Competencies (Conocer) , an organization coordinated by the Ministry of Public Education (SEP) that evaluates and certifies officially valid labor competencies, and the main associations of the country’s logistics and foreign trade sectors.
In a statement, the federal agency indicated that the new standards reaffirm its commitment to the professionalization of human talent.
It also provides a boost to the certification of labor skills and the strengthening of supply chains in Mexico.
The presentation also established a commitment to develop four additional standards in the second half of 2025, bringing the total to eight by the end of the year.
In addition, it was agreed to establish a Competency Management Committee for Logistics and Supply Chain, which will be chaired by the Ministry of Economy in coordination with Conocer.
