A clear vision and a computer were enough to lay the foundation for what LIS Software Solutions is today . Thirty years later, that idea of transforming transportation through technology has evolved into a platform that connects operations, automates processes, and anticipates decisions.
This is the story of a company that grew by listening to its customers, adapting to change , and always striving to stay ahead.
The origin of LIS dates back to 1995 , following a constant concern to improve the functioning of transportation, recalls Alfredo Lozano, founder & CEO of LIS Software Solutions.

With this vision in mind, Alfredo developed a DOS-based system aimed at helping transportation companies address daily operational challenges with practical technological solutions. The first version of the system, called ZAM, featured four core modules: purchasing, inventory, maintenance, and tire control.
In addition to digitizing processes, the goal was to support carriers in their real-world needs. The tool was designed based on experience, with a vision focused on solving everyday problems.
In an environment where many decisions were made based on intuition, ZAM came along to provide structure, order, and traceability.
Confidence was not long in coming. Bachoco became its first major client. That initial opportunity reaffirmed LIS’s value proposition and gave it direction. “They were our first major client. That opportunity not only gave us momentum, it gave us credibility and the certainty that we were on the right path,” Lozano recalls.
The year 1995 saw a challenging environment with the change of presidency and the devaluation of the Mexican peso, which marked a challenging context for business, and transportation in particular.
In this environment, LIS decided to migrate its DOS system to a Windows-based client-server environment.
“I remember that moment well because it involved redesigning the user experience and adapting to new technologies that were just becoming established. But if anything has defined LIS from the beginning, it’s that we’re not afraid of change. On the contrary, we seek it out,” says Lozano.
