When Flavio Rivera speaks, he does so with the calm of someone who has traveled many miles yet remains certain of his direction. He has that firm way of saying things as if he’s been through them before and knows how they’ll end.
His nearly two-decade career at Chrysler , his time at what is now Daimler Truck Mexico , and his current role as CEO of Transportes Innovativos are no coincidence. They are the result of a vision that blends strategy with perseverance , and where family and purpose carry as much weight as any business plan.
“I am blessed,” he says quietly but firmly. “God’s darling,” he affirms. For him, he embraces everything he has achieved with gratitude, even in the most difficult situations.
Flavio has his own way of defining leadership : he says it’s not written with an L, but with an H. And he explains it as if each letter opened a window into his way of thinking.
The first H is for history, it says: a true leader must know the history of his people, his company, himself and his environment.
The second H stands for horizon: knowing where you’re going, guiding with a clear direction. And the third, perhaps the most important to him, is H for humility: keeping your feet on the ground, recognizing that you don’t know everything, and remaining open to constant learning.
That triple H, history , horizon and humility , is the compass with which Flavio directs and lives.
