The College of Civil Engineers of Mexico (CICM) announced that its 33rd National Congress of Civil Engineering will be held from November 11 to 13 of this year under the title Cutting-edge Engineering with Social Responsibility .
Mauricio Jessurun Solomou , president of the 40th Board of Directors of the CICM, pointed out that this congress is taking place within the framework of the 80th anniversary of the institution’s existence, and that it constitutes one of the most important platforms for reflection and collaboration regarding infrastructure development, both nationally and internationally.
He explained that the preparatory process for the event began in April in Chihuahua with the first of three regional meetings; the second will be held in the State of Mexico in July, and the third will be held in Chiapas in August.
“These regional meetings allow us to strengthen the national character of our congress and encourage connections with local associations, enrich the technical content with challenges and solutions that apply at the regional level, and strengthen the trade ties that unite us,” he explained.
The program covers topics such as social participation in engineering project planning, challenges and opportunities in housing and corporate buildings in the Metropolitan Area of ​​the Valley of Mexico, sustainable infrastructure, artificial intelligence in civil engineering; developments in construction materials and techniques; financial decisions in infrastructure projects; and the future of infrastructure in Mexico, to name a few.
This year’s guest country will be England , known for its leadership in urban planning, resilient infrastructure, and efficient financing strategies. This will enrich the technical exchange and provide new perspectives on the challenges facing Mexican infrastructure.
Among the congress’ parallel activities will be the Civil Engineering Expo 2025 , a space for technological exhibitions, networking , and institutional engagement, with the participation of companies providing materials, services, and solutions in civil engineering.
Jesús Campos López , general director of the 33rd National Congress of Civil Engineering, explained that the event will include academic meetings, the Knowledge Olympiad , specialized forums, and spaces for intergenerational dialogue.
Also, virtual academic meetings in the northern, central, and southern regions are being held, aimed at students and higher education institutions, both to strengthen their academic training and their national outreach through conferences, workshops, and courses, among others.
