Coinciding with its 50th anniversary, TIBA Group recently announced its entry into the Brazilian market, as well as its consolidation in the Spanish air cargo export market with the acquisition of Total Freight Worldwide . This will allow it to strengthen its operational capabilities in air, integrating a benchmark team and consolidating its position as a logistics bridge between Latin America, Europe and Asia.
“We are working to make logistics the best experience. Adding Total Freight Worldwide to the TIBA family is a key step toward achieving operational excellence in air cargo as well,” said Javier Romeu, CEO of TIBA, in a statement.
Meanwhile, Francisco Marquínez, founder of Total Freight Worldwide, will continue to lead the team to maintain closeness and trust with the market.
This announcement comes after TIBA announced its consolidation in the Latin American market at the end of March, with the majority acquisition of SMX Logistics .
This acquisition will allow us to combine experience, talent, and operational capacity, aligned under a single vision: to offer innovative, efficient logistics solutions tailored to the regional market.
“Our presence in Brazil represents an opportunity to enhance our reach in the country and continue strengthening our leadership in the region. We are convinced that this merger will allow us to continue providing excellent service and generate new business opportunities for our clients, partners, and employees,” commented Jorge Romeu.
With this operation, TIBA now operates in 13 countries in Latin America. SMX is a company founded 13 years ago by Eduardo Seara, with nearly 150 employees, seven offices, and a track record that has led it to become the seventh-largest Brazilian freight forwarder (excluding multinationals), surpassing 43,000 TEUs (20-foot containers) by 2024.
