Family businesses are the foundation of Latin American economies, contributing 22% of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP). Various analyses indicate that the path for family businesses is upward, with only 22% of them reaching a second generation and only 6% a third.
National trucking is founded on family businesses. Many of them have survived to second and third generations, although this is not the case in most cases, and those who have succeeded do so thanks to the passion they bring to this industry.
“My training is linked to and driven by my family roots in the trucking industry. Although I was involved in the family business from an early age, at 18 I founded my own company, without completely leaving the family business, and I continued to contribute to its development,” says Miguel Flores Serna.
At Grupo FNG, Miguel Flores held various key roles in areas such as treasury and financial management. He was also responsible for the company’s expansion into the United States market and the consolidation of a direct door-to-door service. For transportation companies, especially in the north of the country, operating directly in the United States is a key competitive factor. “Mike” Flores assumed this responsibility and has maintained a consistent route in this market.
