The National Association of Vehicle Tracking and Protection Companies (ANERPV) presented Centinela 2.0 , an evolution of its technological platform focused on monitoring and analyzing data using artificial intelligence.
Luis Villatoro Martínez, president of ANERPV, emphasized that this new version of Centinela represents a “strategic pillar” for protecting supply chains and supporting foreign trade.
“Logistics in Mexico is growing, and that’s why at ANERPV we’re working on three strategic pillars to strengthen it: logistics security certification, professionalization, and technological development. Centinela was born in 2009 as a response to this need, and today we’re taking a step forward with its evolution to Centinela 2.0,” said Luis Villatoro Martínez.
The platform more deeply integrates security and logistics systems . It will also enable real-time transmission of information on vehicle and cargo thefts, facilitating the response of federal and state authorities.
Among its main features , Centinela 2.0 offers:
- Greater integration with authorities: It will be standardized with the C4 and C5 command centers in various entities, as well as with the National Guard.
- Reduction of reaction times.
- Strategic information: Real-time data for decision-making and risk analysis.
- Sending stolen vehicle location information in real time to C4 and C5.
- Incorporation of mobile video cameras to detect risk zones and combat crime.
In addition, Centinela 2.0 already connects more than 2.5 million vehicles, according to César Islas, general manager of Webmaps , the company responsible for developing the platform. He explained that:
“Very soon, Centinela will be able to identify any type of weapon in vehicles. As soon as someone in a public transport van or any vehicle pulls out a weapon, an alert will immediately be generated. This innovation will strengthen security and allow for a faster response from authorities,” Islas added.
During the presentation, Villatoro emphasized that technological development goes hand in hand with the professionalization of the sector . Therefore, ANERPV promotes competency standards endorsed by SEP-CONOCER and seeks to make logistics security certification a competitive advantage, especially for companies that operate under international standards such as ISO 28000.
