Innovative Transport is already looking towards 2025. The expansion plan, motivated by the relocation of production lines to the country ( nearshoring ), includes more fleet, new terminals and a special operation for crossing the border with the United States.
Adrián Cárdenas, founding partner of the transport company, said that they are considering developing a cross-border transport company , in order to have a greater participation with their clients who travel to that country.
“It is different to offer a transport solution using a commercial partner than to offer it ourselves so that the box can cross in a timely manner,” he said in an interview with T21.
He explained that the analysis includes the possibility of using the same truck that starts from the points where they operate in Mexico , that crosses the border or “we are quoting border trucks, which are special, since it is a special configuration by the US authorities, so that it is only one crossing company and offers a better service and our partner takes it to the interior of the United States or Canada.
This new solution would provide savings in terms of increased crossing fees, as well as in time, he said.
He also commented that there are maquiladoras that are growing due to nearshoring in Bajío and Jalisco, “they have increased operations and production, and they are requesting more units from us,” he said.
He explained that they currently have a fleet of close to 700 Navistar , Freightliner and Scania units , however, due to the above, next year they will add between 60 and 70 new units, among which they are considering adding those from Foton .
“We are a company that has been awarded for the modernity of the transportation equipment we have, with equipment that is two to three years old, as required by the maquiladoras to provide this solution with the best units, and that always motivates us to be at the forefront,” he said.
He explained that offering services under different brands allows for lower operating costs and higher returns.
He said that of the 60 or 70 cargo vehicles, approximately 20 or 25 will be for renovation .
Adrián Cárdenas also announced that they are considering building new terminals in the south to provide greater service to this part of the country, as well as in Tijuana and Ciudad Juárez.
The company was created in 2003, with the vision of meeting the transportation needs of Jalisco for industries such as tequila, pharmaceuticals, maquiladora, electronics, among others. “That was the idea of Transportes Innovativos, to grow and provide a transportation solution to all markets,” he said.
Currently, this company connects all of Mexico, with terminals in Laredo, Silao, Querétaro, Monterrey and Guadalajara, although plans include having a facility in Mexico City to further reach the southeast of the country. In addition, they also connect to the United States and Canada.
To these destinations, from Monterrey, Bajío and Guadalajara, they transport products from the automotive, electronic and maquiladora industries, as well as tequila.
