Automation is important to boost the supply chain , so it is important to know the process to find the right solution, as identified by Yoliana Ramírez, Senior Account Manager at Zebra.
He pointed out that it is necessary to have a system for Artificial Intelligence (AI) to understand and process data in order to help respond to the problems that a company has in its logistics network.
In the panel CD of the future from the perspective of experts , Jimmy Espinosa , IT Director Latam of Emergent Cold , stated that it is important to standardize and automate processes in the supply chain through technology , so that it is efficient and allows saving operating costs.
To address the cold chain, a reliable and technological infrastructure is required to manage and control the temperature, he explained, and assured that AI should be “taken with a grain of salt,” since the profitability and viability of automating logistics processes must be considered before implementing this technology.
One of the challenges of the sector is that it must understand the business and surround itself with “good partners” to help in the areas of opportunity that the supply chain has, said Espinosa.
At Elevate Mexico 2024, Ángel Enriquez Hernández , Enterprise Cloud Architect Director at Oracle , indicated that cloud technology issues have become relevant in recent years, which is why he stressed that it is important to offer solutions that companies can take advantage of.
In this context, he stressed that Oracle is seeking to position cloud services so that they can be accessed by any type of company . He explained that ransomware attacks , which are viruses that restrict access to data or files on a device and demand payment to unlock them, have doubled, which is why he considered that it is necessary to have sophisticated tools to attack cybercrimes .
Today, it has become key to “embrace” new technologies, because they can be the difference between surviving or becoming market leaders, concluded Ángel Enriquez.
For his part, Hélcio Lenz, Managing Director Latam at Körber , said that smarter distribution centers need to be built to make the supply chain more efficient , an industry that, he considered, has important challenges in Mexico due to the relocation of companies or nearshoring .
