The motorcycle is becoming the preferred means of transport for an increasing number of people in Mexico, according to Arturo Aguirre, TVS director at Grupo Motomex , this trend is driven by the need for more agile and affordable mobility in increasingly congested urban environments.
In this regard, Aguirre commented that this preference reflects a change in the mobility needs of consumers and an evolution in the two-wheel market, where factors such as the cost of acquisition, time savings, and the flexibility offered by motorcycles are reconfiguring the transportation landscape in the country.
Aguirre also shared that the growth and boom of motorcycles will not stop.
“Last year, nearly 1.6 million motorcycles were sold in Mexico, surpassing car sales, which were around 1.2 million. This trend will continue, and we estimate that by the end of this year we will exceed 2 million units sold in the industry,” said director of TVS 2 ruedas.
According to Aguirre, to meet this growing demand, the motorcycle industry must implement robust logistics strategies that ensure efficient after-sales service and the continuous availability of spare parts.
“One of the main challenges in the motorcycle industry is ensuring the timely supply of parts, especially when it comes to products coming from India or other countries,” Aguirre explained.
As an example of success, he mentioned that the company he manages invested in a warehouse of more than 50 thousand square meters (m²) in San Luis Potosí, where they distribute all the spare parts.
“Currently, we have a 95% supply level for spare parts, which is an exceptional figure in this market,” Aguirre stressed.
It recommends that all companies should adopt advanced technologies to improve customer experience, including implementing artificial intelligence to manage customer service and proactively resolve issues.
Additionally, Aguirre commented that within the framework of this growth in the industry , TVS presented its new APACHE RTR 310 motorcycle, a model that in his opinion has cutting-edge technology and typical characteristics of high-displacement motorcycles, but at an affordable price.
The APACHE RTR 310 will be available in two versions, the top version priced at 109,990 pesos and the premium version at 124,990 pesos.
