CM Logistics , a freight forwarder firm specialized in the movement of plastic and its manufacturing, confirmed that after its expansion and push for nearshoring (relocation of production lines) to Guadalajara and Monterrey, it will begin to provide ground service with its own units.
“We want to do tests this year with consolidated and dedicated transportation, especially in 53-foot boxes so that in 2025 we can develop it with more technological advances,” said Eduardo Mendoza, general director of the company.
In an interview with T21, he specified that they are markets that will develop in the coming years due to demand from the United States, so it is essential to identify loading zones to carry out export movements. He specified that the pilot tests will be carried out with five Freightliner Cascadia units .
He recalled that although they specialize in the raw materials sector, they also transport food, so they would transport plastics, polyethylene, machinery, among other products.
Although, he mentioned, there are challenges to starting this service, such as security.
“There are challenges, in particular such as crime or bureaucratic issues, but with adequate control it can be achieved without major deficiency,” he said.
