The National Institute of Statistics and Geography (INEGI) published the Administrative Register of the Light Vehicle Automotive Industry (RAIAVL), revealing a significant increase in the production and export of new automobiles. In May 2024, 365,574 light vehicles were produced, representing a 4.93% increase compared to the same month of the previous year.

Regarding annual figures, the first five months of the year showed a robust performance with the production of one million, six hundred fifty-one thousand, nine hundred thirty light vehicles, representing a variation of 5.03% compared to the same period last year. Light truck segments accounted for a larger production percentage at 75.2%, broken down into SUVs, pickups, and minivans.
