During the period from January to April of this year, cargo carriers Más Air Cargo and AeroUnion experienced a significant impact on their cargo movements both domestically and internationally, according to the latest report from the Federal Civil Aviation Agency (AFAC).
The document indicated that Más Air Cargo decreased by 49.6% in the Mexican market, transporting only 2,112.20 tons compared to the 4,193.70 tons during the same period last year.
Meanwhile, in the international market, it recorded a decrease of 46.5%, as it only moved 15,635.27 tons in the first four months of 2024 compared to the 29,216.63 tons on a year-over-year basis.
Meanwhile, AeroUnion decreased by 81.3% domestically and 44.7% internationally.
On the contrary, from January to April, Viva Aerobus saw the highest growth in cargo transportation, with a 29.3% increase in the domestic market and a 60.9% increase internationally.
However, Grupo Aeroméxico moved a total of 46,991.19 tons for both markets, obtaining 37% in the domestic market and 54.8% in international participation.
