During April of this year, a total of 3,830 heavy-duty units were wholesaled in Mexico. Out of this figure, Kenworth placed 1,185 units, accounting for 30.9% of the period’s sales, according to data from the National Association of Bus, Truck, and Tractor Manufacturers (ANPACT).
Meanwhile, Freightliner secured the second position in the heavy-duty cargo vehicle market with 30.8% market share, equivalent to the placement of 1,181 units.
In the third spot for sales during the fourth month of the year was International, wholesaling 413 vehicles, representing 10.8% of total sales.
Together, the three brands accumulated 2,779 units, accounting for 72.5% of total sales in April 2024.
Meanwhile, the tractor-trailer subsegment was led by Kenworth, as out of the 2,016 units wholesaled in the mentioned month, a total of 945 belonged to the referred brand, representing 46.9% of the total for the month.
On the other hand, Freightliner placed 602 tractor-trailers in April, accounting for 29.9% of sales. International wholesaled 290 tractor-trailers, accounting for 14.4% of the total sold.
Together, the mentioned brands placed a total of 1,837 tractor-trailers, accounting for 91.1% of units wholesaled during April of this year.
Regarding the sales figures of the remaining cargo units in the reference month, it can be observed that out of the 1,814 trucks wholesaled, Freightliner accounted for 31.9%, or 579 units, while Hino sold 298 units, accounting for 16.4% of the total. On the other hand, Isuzu distributed 288 trucks, representing 15.9% of total sales in April 2024.
